Teams · 2026 season
Which SoCal kart team should we be looking at?
A “team” in sprint karting is not what it is in Little League. Nobody picks you. You pay a program to store, haul, prep and tune your kart, to put a mechanic on it between sessions, and to coach your kid from the fence or in one-on-one lead-follow sessions on track. None of them publish prices, almost none publish what they actually offer, and Yelp and Google reviews are close to nonexistent. So we pulled every 2026 race sign-up and result in Southern California to see who actually runs what.
Of the 22 teams under a tent in SoCal in 2026, 11 ran three or more kids under 12. The big national-level tents ran none of them on four-stroke.
At the local club series, one kid in five raced with no team at all, and in the youngest classes those kids finished on the podium as often as anyone.
Two of the 22 publish a price. Everyone else quotes privately; the national range is “$1k to $15k a weekend, depending on what the program offers.” (What karting actually costs.)
Built from about 2,700 final entries in the 2026 COTF America, Tri-C Karters and SKUSA ProKart Challenge official timing and entry lists, plus the teams’ own websites and socials. Last updated October 20, 2026; we update it after each round.

How to read this page. Nothing here came from the teams. We did not call or email any of them to confirm; every number and class is what we could find in public 2026 entry lists, timing sheets and the teams’ own websites and socials, as of October 2026. Treat it as a map of where each tent’s attention was this year, not a verdict on who they would take or what they charge. If you run one of these teams and something is wrong, tell us and we will fix it.
The series. COTF America is the national-level weekend series at K1 Circuit in Winchester. Tri-C Karters is the local club series at Apex (Perris), Adams (Riverside), Willow Springs and Spring Mountain. PKC is SKUSA’s California ProKart Challenge. Tri-C also hosted the IKF Grand Nationals this year, a national event counted separately below.
The words. A tent is a team’s trackside operation; a privateer races with no team; a podium is a top-three finish in a final; four-stroke (Kid Kart, LO206, Tillotson T4) is the cheaper engine ladder, two-stroke (Micro and Mini Swift, KA100, X30) the faster, pricier one; a shifter is a 125cc kart with a six-speed gearbox, the fastest and most expensive rung.

How old is your kid?
Pick an age and the page shows only the teams that actually ran kids in those classes in 2026. The bars count kids: how many drivers in that age group raced with each team at least once in 2026.
Ages 5–7Kid Kart — number of kids who raced with each team in 2026
One kid each: Precision Driving Concepts, Croc Promotion USA, Mike Manning Karting, Troy Adams Coaching.
Ages 8–12Micro Swift · Mini Swift · LO206 Cadet — number of kids who raced with each team in 2026
One kid each: Competition Speed, MSRT Maxwell, Precision Karting.
Ages 12–15T4 Junior · KA100 Junior — number of kids who raced with each team in 2026
One kid each: S Squared, MSRT Maxwell, Mike Manning Karting.
16 and upT4 Senior · LO206 Senior · KA100 Senior · X30 Pro · Masters · World Formula · Shifters — number of kids who raced with each team in 2026
One kid each: Competition Speed, Sanner Racing.
A kid who raced in two classes is counted in each. “No team” means the driver entered with no team listed: a privateer, usually a family running out of its own trailer. It is exact at COTF and Tri-C; at PKC it also includes drivers whose team we couldn’t identify, which mostly inflates the 16-and-up bar.
How many karts will be on the grid?
Average karts classified in a class final at a round, 2026, by series. Where your kid’s class runs 20 karts there is a real race; where it runs 3, there isn’t yet.
PKC “Shifters” sums six shifter classes. Tri-C excludes the Grand Nationals.

For the youngest drivers
Which teams run a four-stroke program for kids?
Kid Kart (5+), LO206 Cadet (about 8–12), LO206 Junior and Tillotson T4 Junior (about 12–15) drew 218 Tri-C entries from about 120 kids in 2026. Here’s where those kids were, counted once per class. The national two-stroke tents — Formula Works, Nash, HRT, Axis, KartNick — had none.
Trackside Karting Services (Atwater), Cashed Out Racing and Cole Nelson Racing (Nevada) and MD3 Motorsports (Santa Maria) are visiting tents, mostly at the Spring Mountain rounds.

Do you need a team?
At the club series, not for the youngest classes
For a Kid Kart, Micro, Mini or LO206 Cadet driver at Tri-C: no. Kids with no team finished on the podium at least as often as their share of the field. For KA100 Junior and Senior: effectively yes — no-team drivers took 6 of 59 podiums (10%). At COTF, one podium out of 161 went to a driver with no team.

The teams
22 SoCal-based tents, biggest first
“Usually N karts” is how many karts the team had in finals on a typical weekend it attended — the size of the tent you would be joining. Most run 5 to 15. Nobody publishes a tent price; budget the series entry fees on top of whatever a team quotes. Everything here is from 2026 sign-ups and results (see the note at the top).
