What will a season of kart racing cost?
Pick how you want to race and get a rough number for one driver. Round figures, not a quote. Entry fees are the published prices for Tri-C and COTF. Team rates are what we were billed in 2026 for a full-service program. The do-it-yourself numbers are estimates. Every rate is editable under the hood, and Kart Math shows where the numbers come from.

How it adds up: one-time stuff (kart, gear, trailer) + entry fees per weekend + a cost for every day on track (team support, mechanic, track fee, fuel, consumables) + tires by the set + engine rebuilds by the hour + storage, crashes and travel.
Tri-C prices are the non-member rate; members pay about $50 less per round. This is a dad’s spreadsheet, not a quote. Teams price privately and differently, and your mileage will vary by a lot. This tool is in beta: if a number looks wrong to you, email kartingsocal@gmail.com.

Quick answers
How much does a season of go kart racing cost in Southern California?
For one driver, a full eight-round Tri-C season with 16 practice days costs about $16,000 to run if you bring your own kart, trailer and tools, and about $57,000 with a full-service team and a private mechanic. In the first year, add about $7,000 to $11,000 for a used kart, safety gear and, if you do it yourself, a trailer and tools.
How much does one more kart race weekend cost?
Adding one Tri-C weekend costs about $1,200 on your own: entry, transponder and pit pass, two sets of race tires, fuel, parts and engine hours. With a full-service team it is about $4,400, because it adds two days of team support, a mechanic for the weekend and a prep day, and a race-engine rental.
What are the Tri-C and COTF entry fees?
Tri-C Karters charges $225 a round for non-members ($175 for members), plus $20 for a transponder and $20 for a pit pass, so about $265 a weekend. Champions of the Future America charges a $325 registration plus a $543 driver package that includes two sets of race tires and the transponder, so about $870 a round.
What costs the most in a karting season?
Whether you run with a team. In a full-service Tri-C season, team support and a private mechanic are about two-thirds of the cost. After that come the number of race weekends and practice days, tires at about $250 a set with two sets a race weekend, and engines: a race engine needs a rebuild every 6 to 8 hours and a practice engine every 20 to 30.
How accurate is this calculator?
It gives rough, round numbers for one driver. Entry fees are the published prices, team rates are what one Southern California family was billed in 2026 for a full-service program, and the do-it-yourself numbers are estimates. Every rate can be changed under the hood.
